Kathmandu, July 20 : The Patan High Court has given 10 days for Revenue Investigation Department to investigate six persons arrested in connection with smuggling of some 100-kg gold.
Deputy Registrar at High Court Patan, Mandira Shahi, informed that the Department allowed 10 more days for the investigation into the gold smuggling. The accused ones behind the smuggling were presented before the court on Thursday.
So far, the Department has arrested seven persons including a Chinese national in this connection. The Chinese national was arrested from Tribhuvan International Airport today while he was leaving for China via Tibetan Airlines.
Other arrestees are taxi driver Ashok Ranamagar, customs agent Rajendra Kumar Rai, proprietor of Ready Trade Pvt Ltd Dilip Bhujel, assistants Harka Raj Rai, Thukpin Chhiring and Raj Kumar Bhujel. They were held on Wednesday night while exiting TIA customs office with customs clearance. (RSS)
