Bhojpur, June 17 : The seventh edition of Mundum trail race is being organized in Bhojpur in order to promote Mundum trekking route. It was informed at a press meet that the trekking route would get wider publicity through sports and race.

The race covers the tourist areas from Chakhewa Bhanjyang to Temkedanda and border of Khotang district, Tawabhanjyang. The competitive race further goes to Panchdhare, Ratiya, Majhaule and Hattikharka and concludes at Chankhewa, according to the organizer.

The Rimachung Education and Sports Academy informed that the 22-km run was being held on June 21. Academy Chairman Pawihang Rai said nine groups would participate in the competition. 

Every group consisting of six persons will have equal number of women and men. Although it is the rainy season, the race would not be affected, Rai claimed. 

The organizer has decided to provide Rs 40,000 and certificate to the group standing first, while Rs 30,000 to the second and Rs 20,000 to the third.

Even those securing the first, second and third positions in a single race will get Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.

Temkemaiyung rural municipality has provided Rs 500 thousand assistance to the organizer for conducting the race. (RSS)
