Kathmandu, Aug 26: Nepal has clinched the title of Women's T20 Quadrangular Series held in Malaysia.
Nepal won the Series defeating Hong Kong by 13 runs in the final match held on Saturday.
The result of the match was decided via the Duckworth-Lewis method after the match was interrupted by rain at a time when Nepal was batting.
Winning the toss, Nepal decided to bowl first in the final match held at Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Malaysia was limited to 101 runs by losing six wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target of 102 runs posted by Malaysia, Nepal could play only 5.3 overs and made 37 runs losing one wicket. Then the rain affected the match.
Indu Barma and Sita Magar contributed 19 runs and 13 runs respectively. Nepal was declared the winner after the match could not resume due to heavy rainfall.
Earlier, batting for Hong Kong, Yasmin Daswani gathered 11 runs, Ka Ying Chan 29 runs, Marina Antonia 19 runs and Shanzeen Shahzad 14 runs respectively.
Similarly, Khusi Dangol took three wickets for Nepal while Ashmina Karmacharya and Kabita Joshi one wicket each. Khusi Dangol became the Player of the Match of the final match.
Nepal, Hong Kong, Kuwait and host Malaysia were in the Women's T20 series. Nepal had played the series in the preparation of the Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier scheduled in Malaysia from August 31. (RSS)
