Kathmandu, Oct 9: The government has decided to provide Rs 1 million each to the families of those Nepali nationals killed in the terrorist attacks in Israel.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today took this decision, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and government spokesperson Rekha Sharma said.
Likewise, the cabinet meeting decided to repatriate Nepalis, who wish to come back home, in the chartered flights of Nepal Airlines Corporation and Himalayan Airlines.
The government has also expressed heartfelt condolence to those 10 Nepalis killed in Israel in the attacks of Palestine's Hamas group and deep sympathies to the bereaved families.
Similarly, the cabinet meeting has wished for speedy recovery of those injured.
Furthermore, the government has declared national mourning for Tuesday to express its tribute to those Nepalis killed in Israel and will lower the flag at half-mast in the government offices in Nepal and Nepal's diplomatic missions abroad, Minister Sharma said.
Likewise, the government decided to bring the dead bodies of 10 Nepalis from Israel by coordinating with Nepal Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel.
As decided, the Embassy of Nepal in Israel will coordinate and facilitate with the Israeli government to search for those missing Nepalis and ensure treatment to the injured ones.
The cabinet meeting has also directed the Nepali Embassy to ensure online data entry of those Nepalis expecting to return home.
The Embassy is given permission to hire human resources who are expert in the local language for three months to facilitate the rescue and repatriation of those Nepalis.
Minister Sharma shared that the Nepal Embassy is given permission to establish a Temporary Transit Home to carry out rescue operations and cooperate and facilitate in their repatriation.
The government has also decided to take support from Israel and neighbouring countries' support for the rescue of Nepalis if required.(RSS)
