Kathmandu, Oct 21: In a match held under the Triangular T20 Series today, Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 79 runs, advancing to the finals.
In the match that took place at the Mulpani Cricket Ground, Nepal emerged victorious over Hong Kong by 79 runs, securing its berth in the final with an earlier win.
Nepal presented a target of 214 runs for Hong Kong and in reply, Hong Kong managed to score 134 runs at the loss of eight wickets in the 20 overs. Anshy Rath was the top scorer for Hong Kong with 45 runs.
From Nepal, Sompal Kami, Karan KC and Lalit Rajbandhi took two wickets each and Dipendra Singh Airee and Pratish GC took a wicket each.
Winning the toss, Nepal opted to bat first scoring 123 runs at the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
Kushal Malla and Dipendra Singh Airee contributed half-centuries to the team. Malla scored 92 runs including three fours and nine sixes from 41 balls. Similarly, Airee managed to accumulate 57 runs including six fours and two sixes from 34 balls.
Similarly, Aasif Sheikh played with 20 runs, while Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel added 11 runs to the team's score.
For Hong Kong, Mohammad Ghazanfar took two wickets followed by one each by Ayush Shukla and Haroon Arshad. Nepal will meet the UAE for the final on October 23.
It may be noted that Nepal had won its first game against the UAE by 7 wickets and defeated Hong Kong by 6 wickets in the second match. (RSS)
