The border height of the Kaski, Syangja, and Parbat districts is 2,517 meters. Panchase is rich in biodiversity, cultural originality, and natural beauty.
The warm hospitality in the surrounding settlements delights everyone. Especially in Kaski-Bhadaure, Tamagi, Parbat-Chitre, and Dadakharka, the dance songs reflecting Gurung culture and the Gurung Museum offer a unique experience. Local food, modest villages, and their gentle hospitality are the region's hallmarks.
The glaciers of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri, visible from the opposite side, add to the charm of Panchase. There are several attractions in Panchase. The Siddha Baba Temple is located in Dr. Alongside, there's a cave for meditation used by saints and mahatmas. You can also find the Buddha Stupa and Gurung Hill.
The remains of the twenty-four bhure state can be seen on this hill. Panchakoshi Lake, which houses the Barahi Temple, is at the foot of the hill. This time, hundreds of pilgrims and visitors gathered here for the fair to spread 'Sat bij' during Bala Chaturdashi. We also reached Panchase, targeting this fair.
Panchakoshi Lake, situated in the middle of the forest, has enhanced Panchase's dignity. This place holds significant religious and mythological importance. According to legend, the ancient sage Chevan Rishi and the Pandavas performed penance here during the mythological period. Similarly, locals believe that Shrawan Kumar also visited the area.
Five main streams flow from here based on Panchase: Harpankhola, Rati, Zahre, Aadhikhola, and Setikhola, the source of Phewa Lake. The region is akin to the 'capital' of Laliguras and Sunakhari, boasting 107 species of Sunakhari. Rare species like lathi sallas and unique umbrellas are also found here.
Besides the Gurung community, Panchase serves as a common garden for various castes such as Magar, Bahun, Chhetri, Bishwakarma, and Pariyar, who share settlements in the surrounding villages.
