Itahari: The first and biggest provincial news portal of province 1 has been formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai. Chief Minister Rai typed the domain of the pradeshportal.com and the news portal was formally launched at Itahari Banquet on November 30.
Speaking on the officially inaugural function Chief Minister Rai said pradeshportal.com has initiated federalism in news media by launching province-centered news contents.
'Our constitution have made provincial Nepal but many media are not gone provincial' said Rai, 'pradeshportal.com has gone provincial by focusing provincial issues.'
Unofficially run since September, pradeshportal.com was officially launched in presence of hundreds of personalities from different walks of life. Giving welcome speech on the function, Mayor Bhim Parajuli of Biratnagar metropolitan city, the only metropolitan city of province 1, praised pradeshportal.com for its inclusive news team and provincial extensive news content.
Likewise, provincial parliamentarian Sarwadhwaj Sanwa, business leader Tanka Dulal and chairperson of Federation of Nepalese Journalist Province 1 Committee, Bikram Luitel expressed their happiness for launching provincial media.
Speaking on the 1-hour long opening session, Rajesh Bidrohi, the editor-in-chief of pradeshportal.com elaborated about pradeshportal.com.
'Based on news content pradeshportal.com is provincial media', said Bidrohi, 'and based on internet access, this is global media.'
Jiwan Parajuli, chairperson of East Tourism Event Management and Media Private Limited which owns pradeshportal.com, said pradeshportal.com will be a leading news media in province 1 both in terms of news team and news content.
'We are not just for a short walk', said chairman Parajuli,' we are here for long journey of professional journalism in province 1 with pradeshpotal.com'.
