Itahari, April 22 :   With 10 fresh confirmed COVID-19 patients in the state, State-1 has more than half of national confirmed cases of Nepal. Previously 13 pandemic patients were conformed in the state. The fresh cases have increased the tally to 22. This is around 56 % of the national 41 conformed COVID-19 patients.    


The fresh 11 cases are also emerged from Triyuga Municipality-3 Bhulke of the Udayapur district. 8 cases were tested positive at the microbiology laboratory of Dharan-based B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS).    

According to Dr. Ashok Air, the deputy spokesperson of the BPKIHS, 8 throat swab samples were brought to BPKIHS after Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) came positive to them. Two cases were tested positive at Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital of Teku, Kathmandu.    


The first conformed 12 positive cases of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test of the state was also from Bhulke. Among the total 23 cases, 11 are Indians and rest of them are Nepali nationals.    

According to the Corona Information Desk under the Office of The Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers of state-1, 3775 people have undergone COVID-19 tests. Out of this, 678 were tested in PCR and remaining 3097 from RDT.    


According to the Corona Information Desk, 982 are quarantined and 27 are in isolation in the state. Likewise, until Tuesday, 4481 people are home-quarantined in all 14 districts of the state. RSS
